Chaucer’s story starts with heartbreak. He was abandoned at an emergency vet with a broken front right leg. Shortly after, he became sedate/ hyperesthetic/ hypothermic due to marijuana ingestion. But thanks to some amazing people, he received supportive care and his Salter-Harris fracture was repaired.
Unfortunately, during recheck X-rays it was discovered that his surgery worked a little too well and his radial growth plate closed. He now needs a leg amputation because his leg will never grow properly and will always cause him problems and pain.
He’s sweet, playful, and goofy.. He’s never met a stranger: humans and dogs alike!
